 KapalBhati Yoga(Pranayam) 

Kapalbhati is also known as Breathe Of Fire . Kapalbhati is coming from the branch of Hatha yoga and Hatha yoga is branch of yoga .The word of Sanskrit Language Hatha Means Force and as a result of hatha yoga (Kapalbhati) constitutes to a system of physical techniques . Kapalbhati is made up of Two words of Sanskrit language in which first word is Kapala that means that "Skull" and second word is Bhati that means that "Shining" . According To Gheranda Samhita ( is a sanskrit text that tells us about yoga in hinduism) Kapalbhati has magical curative effects  that would visible in human being who does kapalbhati yoga everyday . 

We can Kapalbhati in three ways . All the three ways i can tell you below briefly:-

  • Vatakrama KapalBhati:-

In Vatakrama kapalbhati , there is very similarity to Pranayama (that is a technique of Bhastrika ) . But the there is a exception that is exhalation is active while inhalation is passive , which is quite opposite to normal breathing.

  • Vyutkrama Kapalbhati:-

In Vyutkrama Kapalbhati , there is very similarity to Jala Neti , which includes that sniffing water through the nostrils ( two holes ) of your nose and the water tends to flow down into the mouth then spitting it out from the mouth

  • Sheetkrama Kapalbhati :-

In Sheetkrama Kapalbhati , Sheetkarma kapalbhati can be considered reverse of Vyutkarma Kapalbhati . The reason is that in Sheetkarma kapalbhati Water is taken from the mouth and expelled through the nostrils of your nose . 

Importance of Doing Kapalbhati Pranayam:- 

When you can do Kapalbhati Pranayam , most of the toxins (poisonous substance especially produced by a bacteria that causes diseases ) in our body are going outside from our body through the help of outgoing breathe . If we can do kapalbhati regularly so our body detoxifies all the organs of our body . As a result of doing Kapalbhati regularly our forehead that is a sign of healthy body glows not only from the outside but also from the inside . Our mind becomes more sharp and its ability to doing things grow .

Steps To Do Kapalbhati ( Vatakrama ) Pranayam :-

  • Sit Comfortably with your spine straight .
  • Put your hands on your knees . 
  • Open your hands ( Palms ) towards the sky . 
  • Take a deep breathe in .
  • As you exhale pull your stomach then pull your navel in back towards the spine . 
  • Do as much as you comfortably can . 
  • You may keep your right hand on stomach to feel the abdominal muscles contract . 
  • As you relax the navel and abdomen the . the breathe automatically flows into your lungs . 
  • Take 15-20 such breathes to complete the single round of kapalbharti . 
  • After completing the one round , close your eyes and relax and feel the sensations in your body. 

Things that should be remember while doing Kapalbhati Pranayam :-

  • The exhalation in the Kapalbhati Yoga technique is active and forceful . So you need to just throw out your breathe . 
  • You don't need to take tension about the inhalation . when you relax your abdominal muscles inhalation will happen automatically . 
  • You need to aware about on breathing out . 
  • Remember that do Kapalbhati with empty stomach .
